- August 8th to 12th are the most difficult aspects of the month. Although good for changing self, this is a difficult time when trying to convince or change others. Another crisis opportunity time when it comes to the economy of ecology, relationship, war, and poverty. All the social cultural issues of the times are at critical mass. Good time for truth and love; selfless honesty and compassion; stillness and watchful mind; mindfulness. Critical and over analytical Mercury in Virgo goes retrograde on the 2nd making for time to rethink. Mercury backs up into late Leo on 8th while also opposing Neptune making for confusion or wild idealistic fantasy. Negative mind seeks feeling heart to validate and confirm experience. This Mercury retrograde leads us into the strong and demanding aspects of Mars squaring Uranus on 9th and Mars opposing Pluto on the 11th which often invoke rash action, anger/hatred, and irrationality and loss of common sense. This all comes to settle into some sort of forced solution or peaceful resolution when Mars squares Saturn on 25th, and decisions must be made for good long-term solutions or resolutions. Mars/Uranus is explosive upsets and erratic moments of chaos, but on the spirit side of things it is sudden realizations and brave insights of courage for truth and right action. Mars/Pluto is dealing with all the past history of violence and unnecessary suffering/war/politics of struggle and survival, human rights, ecology. Mars/Saturn is hard work realizations and a need for discipline and structure, long-term goals. All these aspects can make for tough weather or going to extremes, conflicts. It is up to the spiritual student and aspirant of virtues mysteries to make it good, make it dharma, make it work to better the self and world around.
- Sun/Mercury conjunct Venus on 16th makes for love and spiritual inner experience (29th and 30th too). Good time to read a deep spiritual book, or listen to spiritual talk, have spiritual virtuous dialogue or conversation, or to meditate on karma and destiny and our co-creative destiny with the whole of Earth evolution. Higher Love and Truth accessed easier at these times. Right Action makes for a destiny moving mountains for those who find the path leading upwards to virtue’s light at this time.

- More earthquake quaky shaky fallouts on August 17th (from August 8-12th doings) when higher truth and love clash with lower desire and fear. One may struggle to find the truth and facts in one’s continued worries and troubles. Look to the stillness, to the Higher Self, for what holds us all together. Or is this just another time to pull weeds, be compassionate with idiots and the spiritually lazy. Avoid blaming others or shaming oneself or others. There is only living up to, and striving, for the Higher Self, for virtue. The highest truths aren’t striven for nor cultivated, they are listened for. Watchful stillness perceiving universal suffering, everyone’s struggle and suffering, allows for new views and creative possibilities. ‘Let Go and Let God’ wisdom good here; soul listen!
- August 28th, 29th, 30th starts new adventures of learning and growing. With Jupiter going retrograde till December 25th, all future growth and spiritual possibility depend on one’s inner connection to the work, the dharma, one’s spiritual duties. Blessings.

The art of friendship isn’t words
though words may sometimes clothe it.

The science of love is the mind
shining in compassion’s wisdom.
The outer friend will come and go,
some teach us what not to do.
The inner friend forever ensouls
virtue and truth one cannot lose.
The art of friendship is not without
mistakes, and many further learnings.
The art of friendship is an infinite night
in which all the stars are burning
brighter bright to guide the way
to a promised land first glimpsed
and promised when one’s eye
and heart first saw the light within
The light of love makes all things new.
Few are those that know the truth
of stillness shining compassion’s hue
on everyone and thing you do.
The art of friendship is beyond words
beyond a leading or following
a conquering or being conquered.
Written on the stars, lifetimes
emptied into this moment
wisdom triple truth; head, heart, hand
unchaining prometheus from stone;
transforming every desire and fear
into love and truth and going home.
