• January 1st, Venus in the evening sky; Mercury in Sagittarius square Mars in Virgo vibes the day with gusty winds and stormy weather; but also gusty big winds and storms of criticism, small thinking, too big of thinking not practical, and maybe just cleaning house. Other possible difficult weather days (and psychic craziness daze) include night of January 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th-23rd, night of 26th into 27th. The whole end of the month may reveal tough times for weather, war politics, and wall street economics. At any rate, the whole Solstice up to January 6th is a sacred time in all history, all religions, for the birth of light, the solar hero, and a deep spiritual renewal of the year. • January 7th-8th-Mercury aspects along with Full Moon in Cancer January 9th brings rash of suprises in both good and bad news. Flu going around Detroit area should reach its peak. Mars in Virgo aspecting Full Moon brings week of cleaning and tidiness, good for detail work and analyzing situations. Bad or ill effects if over-critical, neurotic nervous, forceful, or irritable. • January 23rd, New Moon in Aquarius, Mercury trines Mars, Mars goes retrograde till April 13th. A new receptivity, spiritualization and love for other people, the world, permeates the time. A sense of concern for helping others in trouble of difficulties. Quick thinking and enterprise. With Mars going retrograde till March where it almost opposes Neptune in March; there is a need to take extra precaution concerning health and food. Dangers of infection or weird psychic states, confusion, or hysteria. Mars manages in its journey to square Chiron, the Nodes, and the asteroids Juno and Pallas. This can work well for psychologizing and healing others. Also good for in-turning, for reflective states of mind, psychology, and getting a good in-depth astrology consultation. The Presidential Race will become clearer, and there is a good chance that a woman will be running on one, or both, the tickets for V.P. ASTROLOGY NEWS AND VIEWS-ROBERT OF MAYFLOWER

1. November 1st, Mercury square Neptune. At best, good day for Om Cafe Miso Soup and macrobiotic plate. Good for playing around, dreaming, planning the future, artistry, and poetics. This aspect notorious for deceptive proclamations, lies, false planning, lack of clarity, confusion, weird weather and psychodynamics. Flamboyant over the top behaviour occurs with this aspect. Take care to avoid fantasy imaginations that get you in trouble. With medication overdose up 3 times higher in last 11 years, difficult Neptune can make for more of such. Super-sensitivity and over reaction. Difficult time to be exact or exacting, or to make big promises one can’t keep. Avoid inflationary or inflammatory behaviours and situations. Strange weather and events in certain parts of world. Confusing news, ads, proclamations, and strange fears, obsessions. Misleading information may precipitate mistakes. 2. November 2nd, Mercury and Venus enter Sagittarius. Higher mindedness, future vision or premonition, and higher love provoke one to transcend one’s fears and worries. Psycho inflationary remarks and actions leading to paralysis or ‘way lay’ of directions and goals. Sudden shifts in markets, politics, weather. This aspect brings out the good guy/bad guy polarity. Religious clash or clash of ideals and futures. Past and future collide. Hard to be present. Avoid spoiled food, fools, and liars untrue to self. Troubles around water, or fire, travel, and false promises. Neptune/Mars can be related to poisoning, bad food or water, air; infections or small epidemics; lies and con-men. 5. Fixed Signs, Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus (and houses such signs are in) need to hold to a higher ideal and truth now. Fixed signs affected most for feeling lost or lied to, having too much to do, too many to please, and never enough downtime free of worry and depressing thoughts; strive for the ideal, yet keep practical and simple to hold the ground you stand on. Good day this full moon for romantic encounters, new opportunities at work, or for work. Avoid criticism that is not constructive. Water and earth signs and houses most affected, sensuous, practical, feeling good vibes.

8. November 16th, Mars in Virgo trine Jupiter in Taurus. Good time to get healthy, exercise, work out, clean up messes, aspire to greater work and goals. Time to get a thousand things, and thinks, done. Good time to clean, catch up on paper work, reconnect or make first contact, right connect. Good time to wheel and deal, and play your cards of good fortune (earth signs and earth houses affected for the most good). Constructive criticism may work here. Good aspect for right strivings, good goings, mobility, healthy conversing and interacting. Good for cars and working being a star with a healthy heart.

9. November 20th Sun square Neptune. Bad time to be cocky, egoistic, flamboyant or bombastic. Unless of course, you are Elvis, the happy ghost. Nostalgia of the past and a mirage like lure of the future, make for many a foolhardy manouevre and flip. Avoid promises that can’t be true. Get everything in writing. Confusion in economics and the political scene. Neptune tends to be too much make-up and lies, deception in high places. Neptune can also bring far-a-way dreams come true, but usually it is pipe dreams and feeling ill or faint from false hopes and dreams, wrong diet, and miscarriage of justice, truth, and divine love (fixed signs beware). Good aspect for dreaming, music, arts, creative design.

Stock Market should do good for a spell here. Good time for future investing. Good time to try something, or someone, new. Good time to just raise yourself to your own next higher level of functioning. Working with others in positive spirit of enterprise and adventure. Mutable signs need to cut out bad habits, or be cut out of something, or someone’s, life. Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, Sagittarius predominantly influenced here. Check your chart for what houses mutable signs fall in, or if you have other mutable signed planets. Look for more shaky extremes in world weather and eery warnings of the future. New Moon trine Uranus could bring extremes in weather and possible small quakes, (west coast perhaps one possibility). 14. November 26th, Venus enters Capricorn and squares Uranus; Moon conjunct Venus. Venus in Capricorn wants clarity, constancy, honesty, and long-term love commitment; at least something that matters or lasts into the future with meaningfulness and gradual growth and surety. Erratic behaviour or getting too caught up in being little, cheap, or over analytical, over calculating, brings problems to love life, and even perhaps to work. Now is a time when one looks for a more mature stable work and love relationship. Dry materialistic controlling cold hearts lose out now to freedom, long-term goals, sure loving and the desire for a happiness that lasts.

2008 is a 10 Numerology wise. This is an amazing year for endings and new beginnings. For completing long-winded projects and making new beginnings. It is also a year that is bad or difficult if one is hanging on to the past and can’t let go of forms one is over-identified with. It’s a great year for completing projects and moving on to new vistas, new ground, new dreams. With the coming Uranus/Saturn opposition, shades of the roaring 20’s and revolutionary rock out 60’s haunt us with their ghosts of the struggle for security and freedom, work and play, seriousness and fun. What roots and grounds, or weighs us down with seriousness, secures us; struggles with what frees and pleasures or lightens us, enlightens us. This reaches its peak in 2008-10. In 2012, a chaos point is reached necessitating world peace and united efforts to attain global sustainability and ecological health. All cardinal signs will be drastically affected for good or ill at this time.

Just a reminder. The planets and astrological conjectures or prognostications are only tendencies and calculated probabilities, like weather and sports. Each individual is the maker and adjuster of one’s own karma and free will, or not. Having a spiritual and virtuous practice is a sure-fire way to free oneself from the negative karmic consequence of planetary and astrological influence. 1. New Moon November 9th at mid Scorpio invokes ghosts of ’89. Look for walls to be put up and knocked down at this time right into mid ’08. Look for much ape-like chest beating and animal rivalry as Mars is about to go retrograde on November 15th into the new year, bringing the possibility of expanding military operations in the middle east. Mars in Cancer is notorious, with many astrologers, as being over aggressive and war-like. Venus on the separating square makes for women taking the higher lead in art-erotics, politics, social justice, and acts of freedom and higher alliance. Danger of misfiring or going off in the wrong direction with Mars opposing Neptune/Pluto. Venus in better position for making peace; beauty conquering the wild beast.

Mid November through December – Over the top energetics get combative and defensive. Actions and reactions now get over-reactive, over-defensive, testy, argumentative, combative, and over-assertive. A call for compassion and patience is much needed at this time. Cardinal signs of Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, and Aries may find themselves incredibly energetic and assertive at this time, as well as on the defensive.

2. Mars in Cancer turns retrograde on November 15th, just in time for the holidays, indicating a real need to avoid negative emotions and arguments, fighting, one-up-man-ship stuff, all the psycho-drama surrounding Thanksgiving to New Year’s. Taking things too personally and feeling offended can lead to much hurt and vindictive behavior.

3. On top of this, Pluto is ending its tour of Sagittarius as it goes into Capricorn in 2008. This last several years has brought about Plutonian upheavals and scandals in all Sagittarius related activities, such as higher education, corporate sports, religion, travel, and learning centers. Many of the troubled glamor stars got whacked with Pluto’s negative side for partying and sexuality like it’s the end of the world. Sag. ruled by Jupiter makes for over-doing the party. On the positive side, all the knowledge in the world is available these days. As Pluto goes into Capricorn, perhaps the wisdom and loving kindness for the earth and others will arrive just in time; or is Pluto in Capricorn totalitarian dictates at the dinner table of love and social etiquette? Pluto is death and rebirth, as well as a perpetual search for a new psychology concerning whatever pluto touches by sign or house. Pluto in Capricorn opposes Cancer and squares both Libra and Aries. The next several years should see much transformation and need for change and update when it comes to ecology, food, partnerships/marriage, and how to govern oneself or be governed. People will marry more into a ‘situation’ or group politic more than for one on one rapport.

4. Mars close to opposing the Neptune/Pluto midpoint on November 15th-16th, Mars going retrograde, and then Venus squaring Mars on November 19th; all leads up to a highly wild escapade for the wild at heart lover. Venus in Libra is an overwhelming need to partner up, while Mars in Cancer is a wild maverick egoist. The positive side would be a wildly creative bodhisattva eco-feminist lawyer for social and spiritual justice, but when in Goddess Tara’s name did we see that last? As the Dalai Lama indicated once: two people rubbing together and making pleasure, can be pleasing and good. If the next day, there is jealousy, attachment, anger, possessiveness, psycho-drama, shame/guilt………. maybe not so good.

These aspects mid November are good for acting out of wisdom, compassion, and good intention; not so good when acting out of need, fear, ignorance or delusion. Avoid repeat offenders and psychodrama at all costs at this time. Good time for music, the arts, theatre, and making love. Sex may not work out so well. Venus/Mars aspects indicate love quarrels; but, if one is careful, it can also indicate quite an erotic, exotic or sensual time. Supersensible experience is difficult at this time, and one’s intuitions may not be trustworthy. Positive qualities at this time would be the mustering up of courage to meet difficult challenges and feelings of being overwhelmed. Good time to read Steiner or Tibetan Buddhist literature if in doubt about ‘right action’ at the time.

The positive side of Mars is ‘Michaelic Courage’ rather than anger. Anger, or at its subtle side, judgmental criticisms that cut and separate one from others, but don’t enlighten, heal, or make whole the situation, can be a continuous volcano ready to erupt, or accident waiting to happen; a ‘negative precipitation’ in personal relationships. Bad or difficult time to travel: October 31 to November 1, November 15 to November 19, December 6 to 10, December 20 to 24. If you do travel at this time, bring a good book of Spiritual Science!

This retrograde Mars is near the sun sign of both President Bush and the Dalai Lama, who share a birthday. Here is revealed the double nature of Mars, aggression, war, anger and impatience on one hand; and courage for truth, genuine soul-searching and patience on the other. It will be interesting to see what happens to these two diverse figures. Mars tends to make one more outspoken and daring, assertive and bold.

5. Progressed U.S. Sun trine Venus this month continues to add support to the rise of Women in Power. With Mrs. Clinton’s Natal Moon about to be visited by a conjunction of Uranus in ’08 (though this can be felt even now), look for Mrs. Clinton to be quick and nimble, fast on her feet, and near genius with her wit and intellect. Lots of quick changes, roller coaster ups and downs for her in ’08. If she wins or not, Uranus conjunct her Moon will challenge all her relationships to go to the higher level or get out of the way. Although she is the main contender for President, look for a Republican candidate to give her a run for all her money. (Perhaps Mr. Romney?).

6. Scorpio and Cancer Sun signs make significant positive changes to progress their life upwards in November, as does Aquarius and Gemini to a lesser degree. Pisces, Libra, and Sagittarius need to continue discarding the old and dead weight to lighten their flying abilities in November.

7. Uranus goes direct from retrograde on the Full Moon, November 24th. This could be a highly critical moment of sudden reversals and roller coaster rides in all the financial markets. As Jupiter continues to conjunct Pluto into December, success in all matters depends on exactly what one ‘dumps’ or gets rid of, allowing room to move or fly or ascend. Success is determined by getting rid of unnecessary or unwanted matters allowing room for new growth and opportunity. Here, an empty hand is open to receive.

Crisis opportunities abound at this time in all partnerships, relationships, and family matters. High tension and escalating tactics and maneuvers challenge security. Ideals of freedom tip the boat of security. Pisces, Virgo, and Gemini are affected the most, followed by Sagittarius which should show a good deal of luck during this time.

When Uranus goes direct at the Full Moon, look for a big shift of gears, and lots of sudden changes in direction, laying a patch on your third eye if you’re not careful.

8. Watch for ’08 on into 2010-12, when Pluto goes into Capricorn heading for opposition with USA Sun Sign, precipitating extreme actions and reactions to geo-political-economic changes. Prices for food up? Taxes up? Extremes in rich and poor increase? Quality or quantity of water, food, and energy may become a world problem, along with a real time-line and need for global change concerning pollution and the environment, water/food/air. In time, we may see nature going to extremes and a reversal of the warming trend with really severe cold weather as Mother Nature seeks to restore her own balance and equilibrium/harmonies. A renewed sense for educating others to the quality of life and for life long learning concerning true nature of self and the world around us is called for.

9. The end of October into December 2007 very well may continue to see food, gold and oil prices going up. Danger of ecological disaster or problems as well as further geo-political conflicts. With Mars retrograde, the rumors of further conflict may see strong spikes both up and down in related economic markets. Dangerous time to gamble. Let’s hope that when Jupiter conjuncts Pluto in December, and Saturn goes retrograde, that world leaders make a good effort to honestly work together for peace and prosperity and the common good. As Pluto goes into Capricorn in coming years, one would expect strong attempts to control world markets, avoiding undue conflicts with more of a unified world-wide social economic political governing body.

10. Jupiter in Capricorn trine Saturn in Virgo in 2008 favors Taurus as the luckiest sign of the Zodiac for the year. If you are not a Taurus, nor have planets in Taurus, then make one your friend and hug up. Capricorn and Virgo continue to grow steady and sure this coming year, but practicality and long-term goals need be placed strongly in mind over short term success. Gemini is lucky but can’t trust or gamble with such luck this coming year.

I love the study and ideas of Rudolf Steiner (my hero), and work hard to put such ideals into my everyday life. There is a deep mindful soul connection and revelation to be discovered by putting spirituality and virtue into our everyday life. Applying Anthroposophy or Steiner’s ideas to every walk of life (family, work, love, music, gardening, even conversation and dreams) is to awaken higher worlds in this world, heaven on earth if you will. Other tools of knowledge enabling upliftment, personal and collective enrichment, of mind and body is Astrology (Cosmic Rhythms of our astral and etheric bodies), Tibetan Buddhism (a path to purifying the astral and etheric bodies and transforming ordinary physical, emotional, and mental activities into spiritual or virtuous thinking, feeling, and willing). Also, Macrobitics (establishing a healthy lifestyle by balancing what some anthroposophists call the “lucifer” and “ahrimanic” forces by the “Christ” or the ‘I Am’ representative of the Solar Logos now here on earth. Macrobiotics though, is as simple as balancing acid and alkaline foods, expanding and contracting ingredients, to attain balance and harmony. HPB says that compassion and harmony is not the ideal, but it is the law of the universe, it is a fact of life. Many of us have lost harmony and creative or co-creative peace.  For that reason, it is a wonderful thing to have Steiner’s writings and thinking available. To have spiritual teachings available for us to experiment in our own lives with. Each of us out of freedom and joy for life, have the opportunity to learn and grow on our own and with each other. Life can be fun and freeing to our minds and souls! All this is to say, it can be fun to share.

Again, as Steiner himself points out, these are just inadequate words trying to describe our spiritual experience, and not buzz words for fanatics and lunatics. This BLOG is an attempt to communicate and interact with human beings, spiritual researchers  and adventurers. What does it mean to be spiritual, human and alive in this world today? What does it mean to be spiritually awake and have a mind?

   To put our spirits and dreams into action? Live the life to come to know the teachings is one good way. Learning what others have discovered may save us work and pain, but each of us must learn to come to these things for ourselves to be free. This is not a fact finding mission, it is an adventure and experiment in truth. It is for the love and joy of life that we share. This is not an authoritative statement, it is a playful invitation.

   This is Robert of Mayflower sharing spiritual ideas that may work to enkindle your heart to raise the level of perception and feeling for this world and self we are. This is not about perfecting, it is about seeking a more whole self, and connecting up  to other human beings striving for knowledge and understanding, clues upon the path of life and spirit. It is about awakening to a more creative life by sharing spiritual ideals and ideas. This is not about authority, but about self evident truths we may have discovered. Truth has a way of  working in every day life, uplifting our souls and minds to be more participant and fearlessly loving. As Steiner says, ideas that we don’t or can’t make into our ideals, our higher striving, and ideals  we don’t put into action, will slay or deaden our soul life. So there you have it. It’s not an accurate exact authoritative quote, its what I heard in my memory that my friend Rudolf Steiner said. Each of translates experience into experience. We are all alchemists of sorts. (ie we learn to get in touch with the soul, or mind, of the author). Ultimately the author is our own higher self, our atma/buddha/manas or our spirit human/life spirit/spirit self. Maybe we are all co-authoring this world.

   All of us have this experience. Either we hear what we want to hear, colored by our desires and fears etc, or we hear something that raises us up to a higher vision, a higher calling, enkindling new action and spheres of happening. The Spirit in us wants to make all things new; the soul wants to co-create, to know and understand,  in a higher way; our everyday self wants to be part of the action, to do something. “Steiner says”—you’ll probably hear this often, but its part of the terrain here. Steiner says that if you just let your feelings go without developing real spiritual thinking, suffering will come. And that when spiritual thinking is developed first, then the release of feelings brings happiness and “bliss.” Spiritual thinking, in my view, is developed with the study of the ideas in Rudolf Steiner’s books, ‘Theosophy,’ Theosophy of the Rosicrucian,’ ‘Outline of Occult Science,’ ‘Evolution of Consciousness,’ and ‘How to Know the Higher Worlds.’ Other books that would enhance, support, and enlarge your perception and ability include, ‘Self Healing Cookbook,’ ‘Introduction to Tantra’ by Lama Yeshe with intro by m’friend Philip Glass, Books by Gelek Rinpoche, ‘Zen Manifesto’ by Osho, ‘Book of Secrets’ by Osho, the music cd ‘Book of Secrets’ or ‘Ancient Muse’ by Loreena McKennitt, ‘The Key to Theosophy’ and ‘The Voice of the Silence’ books by H.P.Blavatsky (Steiner called her “A World Event” blowing open the door to each of us learning for ourselves the secrets and mysteries of true Spirituality).  There will always be more books, but this is a good start. Its the journey inbetween, the ‘bardo’ as the tibetans call it, where we find ourselves anew, in the ‘now’. Real knowledge makes you come alive. It gives you color, joy, freedom and opportunity, to grow and know for yourselves. Welcome, may we all learn and teach in our turn,
